Tripping across the Carpathians

September held two Carpathian trips for me:  One to Uzhgorod, a town in Ukraine right near the border Fall_colors_morskieof Slovakia and Hungary (and you can find speakers of all three languages there - and probably Romanian as well!), and another to Zakopane, Poland.  Some of you might know about Zakopane from an earlier blog entry about my trip with my mom and dad.  Well I got to go back with a couple friends this fall and see Morskie Oko (a lake high in the mountains) unfrozen and surrounded by fall colors.  It was gorgeous!

The trip to Uzhgorod was to host a conference for our churches in Hungary, Romania, and Ukraine.  For the "Ukraine team" it was a first to actually host a conference right in Ukraine (last time we 'hosted' a conference, we did it in Poland!)  We were blessed by great messages from John Unger, our main speaker, and Jerry Coleman, Area Coordinator for FMWM in Europe.  Click here for a funny of picture of me in a traditional Ukrainian shirt and Larry Winckles' blog account of our conference! :)
